Dr. Victoria Luka Brennan

A native of Ukraine, Victoria holds an ecclesiastical licentiate in Eastern Christian Studies from the University of St. Paul, Ottawa and a doctorate in Eastern Ecclesiastical Studies from the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome. Her areas of specialization include Theology of Icons, Byzantine Art and Architecture, Byzantine Spirituality, and Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts. In 2007 she completed her Diploma from the Vatican School of Library Science. She has served as Assistant Library Director and taught courses in Systematic Theology at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine. In addition to her theological and academic study of Byzantine Sacred Art, Victoria pursues her love of this tradition as an iconographer.

Mary Ann Navarro

Mary Ann Navarro has been employed at St. John’s Seminary since 1997. Her primary responsibilities are acquisitions, copy cataloging and serials management. She graduated from Ventura Community College with an A.S. in Early Childhood Education. She taught and directed preschool programs in Ventura County and volunteered at school libraries which eventually led her to a career in libraries. Her interests are gardening, Interior decorating and Latin dancing.

Peter Laurence

Peter Laurence started work at the seminary in December, 2011. He is responsible for interlibrary loans and course reserves. Peter is an experienced teacher and translator (Spanish-English). He is also familiar with Portuguese, French, and Dutch. He has done volunteer work with the Missionaries of Charity in Tijuana. Among his many interests are cycling and cake decorating.
